Your photos stay yours.
The short version
- Your photos never leave your device unless you export or share them yourself.
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not create user accounts or collect your email, name, or contact info.
- We have no servers — the app makes no network requests of its own.
- We use no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Photos
Photos you take with reCompose are stored in the app's private storage on your device. They stay there until you choose to save them to your Photos library, share them, or delete them. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and no cloud or AI service ever sees your images. Photos you import from your library into the app are handled the same way.
Location
If you allow location access, reCompose geotags your photos on-device so the location travels with them when you export to your Photos library — the same way the built-in Camera app works. Location data is written only into the photo's own metadata on your device. If you decline location access, everything else works normally.
Notes and edits
Notes you write on a photo and any crop/straighten edits are stored alongside the photo in the app's private storage on your device. When you export a photo, your notes are embedded in the exported file's caption metadata so they travel with it — that's your choice, made at export time.
What our website knows
This website is a static page. Its hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) may log standard technical data (IP address, request time) to serve and protect the site, as every web host does. The website has no accounts, no forms, and sets no tracking cookies. The app itself never contacts this website.
Feedback email
The "Send feedback" button in the app opens your own Mail app with a pre-addressed draft. Nothing is sent unless you hit send, and the email goes through your mail provider, not through us. If you email us, we see what you chose to send — we use it only to respond, and we don't add you to any list.
Children's privacy
reCompose is intended for users 13 and older. Since the app collects no data, we do not — and cannot — knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
Because we don't store any data off your device, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on request. Deleting the app removes all of its data. Photos you exported to your Photos library are managed there, by you.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — for example, if a future version adds any online feature — we will update the date at the top, note the change in the app's release notes, and update the app's privacy label on the App Store before shipping it.
